Network and Security Engineer – Cyprus, Greece or Remote

Job description

The Role:

We are looking for a hands-on passionate Network and Security Engineer to join our team.

You will provide operational support to other teams or end-users while also providing assistance to other members of the team by contributing to projects and team deliverables. You will also investigate security alerts and maintain the organization’s firewalls. Some of the technologies you will be using are: Firewalls, VPN, IPsec, Sandbox, Anti-virus etc.

Job Duties

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Provide operational support to other IT teams or teams from the wider business
• Investigate operational alerts regarding the health of the network and security infrastructure
• Help with the administration and maintenance of the organization’s firewalls
• Work closely with senior team members and contribute to the projects the team delivers
• Report and stay abreast of current security technologies, threats and vulnerabilities
• Document and maintain existing documentation related to technologies or procedures used by the team

Job Requirements

Main requirements:

• BSc/MSc in Information Technology or any other related field
• Minimum 1 year working experience in a related position
• Hands on experience with firewall administration will be considered an advantage
• Good knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, IPS, WAF and VPNs
• Basic understanding of various information system technologies (Windows/Linux systems, Active Directory, VMware, databases etc)
• Critical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills
• Very good verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Very good organizational and time management skills
• Entry level network engineering qualifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc) will be considered an advantage
