Web Designer

Job description

The University of Nicosia is looking for a Web Designer that will primarily be responsible for the setup and design of UNIC and other units of the organisation’s websites as well as other graphic design materials including, but not limited to, marketing/advertising collateral, website visuals, print and web-based products, presentation materials, and design elements for social media, webcasts, etc. The Web Designer will be responsible for protecting and managing UNIC‘s brand identity internally and externally with established UNIC design standards.

Job Duties

• Creates web-based materials, print, audiovisual presentation materials, social media, and other such multimedia needs as they may evolve over time
• Thinks creatively to produce high-quality visual solutions to the website and other online presence needs of the organization from draft to final product, using appropriate media and styles as set forth by the UNIC Marketing Team
• Operates within established constraints of cost, time, and project specifications
• Schedules workflow effectively on multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines, including initial and interim design review, revision suggestions and implementation, and product finalization
• Builds and maintains effective communication with all internal and external project stakeholders
• Creates and applies brand identity requirements/guidelines across all deliverables, and creates designs which adequately represent UNIC and partnering organizations
• Maintains an archive of images, photos, and previous work projects
• Updates the Marketing Project Management System
• Assists with other ad-hoc projects as assigned

Job Requirements

Academic Qualifications

• A Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or any other related field

Professional Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in deadline-driven design and production environments

Job-specific skills

• Proficient to expert in creating websites in WordPress
• Proficient to expert in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator CC
• Experience in HTML and CSS
• Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in video and audio editing. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere and After Affects CC a plus
• Experience in GIF and 3D animation a plus
• Ability to conceptualize designs and preflight materials
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
