Job description

For our client, an international group of companies involved in real estate & construction, we are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Limassol.


Job Duties

  • Prepare, support, monitor and upload of the annual budgets,
  • Monitor the cost and internal controls according to group's policies
  • Ensure that monthly management accounts, financial statements and all financial information are prepared and recorded in a timely manner
  • Prepare, support, monitor and upload of the quarterly forecasts
  • Ensure timely payment of company's obligations to suppliers, tax authorities and other parties
  • Ensure that financial policies and procedures are developed and updated according to group's policies
  • Support the local Finance Director and Financial Controller in relevant meetings with the Management as necessary
  • Guide and support junior members of staff
  • Liaise with external associates such banks, auditors, clients, etc.
  • Monitor and oversee the analysis of key performance indicators
  • Preparation of accounting file for the external accountants and auditors, together with supporting documentation;
  • Cooperation with the company's external accountants, auditors and tax advisors during the accounting and audit period;
  • Support ad-hoc financial requests and analysis
  • Elaborate the credit policy of the Company:
  • o Review loan requests
  • o Assess counterparties' financial status
  • o Evaluate creditworthiness and risks
  • o Contact counterparties to gather financial data and documentation
  • Analyse and recommend potential alternative financing structures and explain/show their impact on earnings, balance sheet, tax effects and financial ratios.
  • Analyse risks and propose the Board on approval or rejection loan requests, in conformance with the credit policy
  • Develop and implement cash management operational strategies
  • Assess foreign exchange risk and implement hedge programs and strategies
  • Assist in the development of bank relationships
  • Ensure proper controls are in place for regulatory requirements such as SOX
  • Provide the best return within a reasonable level of risk.
  • Preparation and collection of all the relevant information for the registration/ deregistration of employees with the social insurance department and tax authorities;
  • Maintain all appropriate records for Employees according to Labour Law and group's policies.
  • Arranging amendments to tax and social insurance department related to the company data (for example, officers and address change);
  • Preparation of initial Tax computation of new employees, including for review by company auditor;
  • Issue the TD63 of the previous year;
  • Preparation of payroll and PAYE computation;
  • Calculation of bonuses and compensation to employees (business trip expenses, company-related and agreed expenses);
  • Preparation and submission on a monthly basis of the payments to social insurance;
  • Preparation and submission on a monthly basis of the PAYE payments to Tax authority.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related field
  • Member of a professional Accounting body (ACA/ACCA/CPA)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • At least 5 years working experience in a similar position
  • Experience with MS Dynamics, Trinity Treasury Management, LucaNet, Tangelo will be an advantage
  • Excellent command of the English and Greek Language (both written and verbal)
  • Dynamic with an ability to solve problems and provide results
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
