The Role:

We are looking for a hands-on and passionate Network and Security Engineer to join our team. You will assist on the deliverables of individual and team projects, collaborating with members of our team, troubleshooting network and security issues, and maintaining the organization’s network equipment and firewalls. Some of the systems and technologies you will use are routers and switches, Cloud-based WiFi, Firewalls, VPNs, IPsec, Cloud technologies etc.

Job Duties

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Administration and maintenance of the organization’s network (wired and wireless) and security equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve networking and security issues
• Monitor network performance and ensure availability
• Document technologies and procedures used by the team
• Provide operational support to other IT teams or teams from the wider business
• Configure and maintain physical security solutions (cameras, environmental sensors, access control etc)

Job Requirements

Main requirements:

• BSc/MSc in Information Technology or any other related field
• Minimum 1 year working experience in a related position
• Proven hands-on experience in network administration and network security
• Very good knowledge of security devices such as firewalls and IPS etc
• Operational knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, HSRP, BGP, 802.11, QoS, IPsec, LACP etc)
• Hands-on experience with network management and monitoring tools
• Critical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Very good organizational and time management skills
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, etc will be considered an advantage
