Job description
Our client working out of their Larnaca based offices and servicing the Oil and Gas industry are currently looking to recruit a Finance Manager who will be reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience and a similar position and he/she will be responsible for the Finance function of the company.
Job Duties
- The review and validation of Journal/accounting entries ensuring that all supporting documents and approvals are in place and complete and in accordance with the company policies.
- The review and validation of payments (cheques & transfers)
- Review and validation of purchase order ensuring proper approvals and documentations.
- Review of LPOs and ensure commitments are tracked.
- Involvement in the tendering and procurement process
- Review of suppliers’ reconciliations and ensuring all unreconciled items are resolved promptly.
- Review of suppliers aging and related reports
- Review of monthly balance sheet liabilities accounts reconciliation and ensure clearance/ resolution of outstanding open items.
- Regular Supplier database management and additions of new ones and ensuring that all details are captured in the system.
- Communicate with relevant departments on a regular basis the payment terms of outstanding invoices due for payment to ensure payment are made on time.
- Review of Customers invoices and journal entries booked in the ledger and review of supporting documents.
- Review of sales collections accounting entries and review of its supporting documents
- Review of customers reconciliations and ensuring the unreconciled items are resolved promptly.
- Review of customer dues Aging reports and follow up with concerned team members on collection and bad debt issues.
- Correspondence with Collection team on defaulted customers and collections issues
- Reconciliation of sub-ledger to general ledger in a regular basis
- Review of balance sheets accounts receivable accounts reconciliation and ensure clearance/ resolution of outstanding open items.
- Review of AR related transaction and entries (revenue recognition, gov grant)
- Preparation of Cashflow forecasting and weekly reporting
- Review of monthly bank reconciliation and ensuring all open items are resolved promptly.
- Custody of bank guarantees received from suppliers.
- Review of LC entries and ensuring all approvals are obtained and proper supporting documentation.
- Close sub ledgers and post to General ledger for each entity ensuring any exceptions are dealt with.
- Reconciliation of the sub ledgers with the general ledger and resolve the issues.
- Monthly intercompany/RP reconciliation and preparation of Debit/credit notes if required, including Matrix preparation.
- Review of intercompany accounts reconciliation and ensure resolution of outstanding open items on a timely manner.
- Agree accruals with business units and service units’ heads and book related entries.
- Review the accounting entries for fixed assets (depreciation and impairment)
- Review of closing related journal entries
- Review each balance sheet account and key P&L accounts lead schedules.
- Management of the closing process and ensure responsibilities always monitored during the closing process
- Review of common cost table and the monthly entry to respective unit
- Preparation and review Month end Consolidation and elimination entries
- Preparation and review of Monthly suppliers outstanding and accruals report
- Review of Monthly management reports
- Conduct variance analysis on the financial statements and accounts.
- Prepare Ad hoc reports and presentations requested by the management.
- Preparation and review of budget vs. actual analysis and report exceptions and explanations
- Managing the annual budgeting process including the preparation of the budget template and related guidelines
- Review of depreciation monthly
- Review of monthly balance sheet fixed assets related accounts reconciliation and ensure clearance/ resolution of outstanding open items.
- New cost center/business units/products/function/account management (creation and validation in oracle)
- Ensure any service to be spent or spent is within the budget allocated and escalate if exception found.
- The review and validation of Journal/accounting entries ensuring that all supporting documents and approvals are in place and complete and in accordance with the company policies.
- The review and validation of employees’ payments (cheques & transfers)
- Review payroll journal entries
- Review the monthly payroll pension accounting entries.
- The review of entries related to vacation, tickets, end of services and other benefits related entries.
- Review of monthly balance sheet payroll related accounts reconciliation and ensure clearance/ resolution of outstanding open items.
- Review of petty cash and cash related entries and ensuring in line with policy and procedure
- Perform regular self-count on petty cash float.
- Ensure petty cash count is done by independent person other than the custodian.
- Ensure all cash collection are deposited regularly in the respective bank accounts, if applicable
Job Requirements
- Education: BA accounting
- Skills: MS Office
- Experience: 5 years in Accounting/Finance position
- Languages: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek & English are a must.

The client is offering a salary of 3500 Euros gross monthly
