Junior Developer (VAC-A528)

Job description

Our client is a professional intermediary in the world’s financial, energy and commodities markets. Matching buyers and sellers, they create liquidity and price discovery in these markets and provide insight and context to their clients. They are seeking a Junior Developer who will be responsible for the design, development and testing of programs and other code artifacts under the guidance of a Technical Team Leader (TL), and with the support of Principal Engineers. 

Job Duties

• Design, develop, test, maintain and enhance software products covering web, rich client and server applications.
  
• Document requirements and designs
• Develop innovative solutions in a strategic, pragmatic way.
• Participate in the SCRUM processes

Risk Responsibilities:

Ensure that you understand the risks and controls on your department; what could go wrong, what controls you have to prevent/detect or contain these.

All staff have defined risk management responsibilities. The Group imposes additional responsibilities on line-managers and senior managers. It is critical that all staff discharge their risk management responsibilities when undertaking their role. Specific responsibilities are incorporated into employee objectives, and your performance against these objectives will be assessed as part of the firm’s performance management process. You will also be required to confirm that you have discharged your risk management responsibilities through the annual risk management attestation process.

• Experience in modelling and graphical representations of software systems
• Programming experience in at least one of C#, Java, Javascript or Python
• Linux knowledge would be plus
• SCM (Git preferred) experience
• University degree or similar qualification
