About the company

Foley’s school is a private school located in Limassol. It was established in 1970 by Ward and Pat Foley. The school originally opened in Famagusta and by 1974 it was well-established, with a roll of about 250 pupils, but it was evaluated and relocated in Limassol because of the 1974 disaster. Limassol Grammar and Junior School was born and over the years, the school became known as “Foley’s” and in recent times this has become the school’s official name.

Foley’s school has 1100 students across the whole age range. In 2019 the whole school has moved from the old premises to new in Ayios Athanasios. The facilities at the new premises are high-tech, with fully equipped laboratories, computer rooms, art rooms, music department, and a large library. All classrooms have the latest interactive flat screens. Sports facilities include a sports hall, a 25m swimming pool and an all-weather athletics track surrounding an astroturf football pitch. The new site has an outdoor amphitheater and also there is a 400-seat indoor theatre under construction.
The school generally follows the UK National Curriculum although it is not tightly adhered to. The eventual goals are external examinations with London (Edexcel) and Cambridge examination boards. The school has been highly effective in these examinations over the years and most of the pupils succeed in earning positions at top universities in the UK and elsewhere.
From its earliest days, Foley’s has placed a strong emphasis on offering extra-curricular activities. These include various sports, drama, dance, music, Duke of Edinburgh Award, hikes, educational visits, and school trips abroad. Such activities are extremely important to the overall education of young people and encourage all pupils to make the most of the opportunities available.
