Our client a well established Insurance Company is looking to hire a Claims Legal Supervisor for their offices in Limassol.
The Claims Legal Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operation of the Legal Department. Reviews claims requests and analyses and answers inquiries regarding claims, or reason for denial of claim payment. Requests all information from internal and outside sources to ascertain completeness and validity of claim and ensures that the Claims Department provides valued added service to clients and legal team negotiates with lawyers and third parties as well as to review and finalizes associate agreements. Perform litigation management and co-ordinate external legal associates. Providing legal support over inquires for company’s issues upon request and providing corrective actions for possible gaps. Assist Claims Manager and Manager Director on claims where prosecution is necessary.
Suggest proper claims handling and processing.
Attend claims queries and complaints which escalate to management level or are in need of intervention
Maintain and update Legal Division procedure
Recognize and communicate all state and regulatory issues to relevant staff members.
Train and monitor team member’s performance and provide leadership to the team.
Assistance to customers in need
Input all data related to claim based on information received or provided by any party related to the particular claim.
Request documents related to claims from insured’s, brokers or any other related parties.
Prepare claim folders and either negotiate with claimant’s lawyers if within specified limits or refer claim folder to Manager Director
Assess whether investigation has been completed
Maintain physical (hard copies) claim files.
Update the system with any notes to track status of claims activity.
Input and reviews reserves in claims system based on information provided.
Process settlement checks and invoices related to claims activity within prescribed requirements. Work with Finance regarding any wire transfer needed within prescribed requirements.
Prepare, photocopy and distribute correspondence related to claims activity, to include acknowledgement letters and letters with claim payments.
Handle any claims related incoming mail (post or electronic) by ensuring that it is scanned into the system the day it is received.
Run claims related reports, as may be requested.
Handling correspondence from Lawyers
Prepare and Maintain Legal Report and research of court verdicts on liability and injury cases
Organize external Legal Meetings for pending court cases and prepare minutes of every such meeting
Prepare and update lawyers’ claims/ cases folders
Provide Legal support to interested department upon request
Claims Legal reporting on a monthly basis.
HR assistance to new appointments and interviews
The ideal candidate will have:
School: School leaving certificate
Professional / tertiary: Degree in Insurance related or Legal related degree will be considered an advantage.
Minimum 5 years claims legal management experience.
