Job Description

An international Home Improvement Store currently have an opportunity for a Department Manager to join their dynamic and vibrant team. With locations all around the world, this is a great opportunity for someone with retail management experience to join a large international company. The successful candidate will be supervising a small team and must speak both Greek and English, as well as hold strong customer service skills.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that the department is ready to welcome visitors every day
  • Monitor the commercial activities of competitors related to the products
  • Ensure that all products in the department are well presented with good merchandising tactics
  • Obtain thorough product knowledge and acknowledge any range updates
  • Ensure that all the products located are always surrounded by the proper add-on products
  • Cooperate as required in order to achieve the sales objectives set
  • Ensure that the right amount of stock is available for every product
  • Ensure that all team members implement the company selling guidelines
  • Monitor all the tactical promotions in the area of responsibility
  • Closely monitor the profitability of the area of responsibility
  • Plan for the most effective staff availability and arrange shift rota’s
  • Ensure that all staff in the area of responsibility are aware of and follow the operating routines as intended
  • Monitor on a monthly basis the department budgets
  • Inspire towards a customer focused work culture and behaviour
  • Ensure that all information is understood by everyone in the area of responsibility when and as needed
  • Commit to personal development
  • Conduct twice a year an appraisal review with all the team members within the department

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Fluent in Greek and English
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the retail industry
  • University degree
  • People Management Skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office
  • High level of communication skills
  • Customer services orientated
